Health and quality of life outcomes
This study explored how Chinese adolescents' mental well-being might be connected to how they spend their time, specifically looking at physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep. Researchers found that swapping 30 minutes of sedentary time for either physical activity or sleep, or even exchanging 30 minutes of physical activity for sleep, was associated with fewer symptoms of depression and anxiety. This suggests that even small adjustments in daily routines, especially prioritizing sleep, could play a role in supporting adolescent mental health.
