The "Feeling" of inattention: ADHD symptoms and mind wandering beyond remembered thought content
Yeo LT, Fernando E, Brosowsky NP
Psychological research
This study looked at how different aspects of mind wandering connect with ADHD symptoms. Researchers found that simply *feeling* inattentive, even without remembering specific distracting thoughts, was linked to inattentive ADHD symptoms, well-being, daily challenges, and performance issues. In contrast, remembering specific off-task thoughts was mainly connected to hyperactive-impulsive symptoms. This suggests that the way we experience and describe being off-task matters when understanding its relationship with ADHD.
